Kern Trembath, '72, on his Alumni Day 2008 experience:
It's amazing how small 35 years and a few pounds make the cox
cockpit! Aside from being corkscrewed in, though, it was nice to be
back in a shell. The water was slightly choppy but none of the rowers
had any difficulty with it. We rowed around 2K meters in all, dodged
several sailboats racing on a course whose northern edge was right at
JLAC, dodged 2-3 wakes thrown up by cabin cruisers trying to miss the
sailboats, but then didn't dodge a wake that drenched the stern four
and me. In spite of this, the boat really jumped on full power. We
even did a couple of starts. For me personally, the very best thing
was looking over at the varsity shell and seeing my sons in it. It
was the first time all three of us had been on the water at the same
time, and I'll cherish the memory forever.

Couldn't make it? Stay tuned for announcements about Alumni Day 2009.
